The Public Relations Association of Uganda (PRAU) proudly announces the appointment of its President, Ms. Irene Nakasiita, to the Continental Advisory Committee (CAC) for the 2026 World Public Relations Forum (WPRF), to be held in Abuja, Nigeria.
The appointment, made by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) in partnership with the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management, recognizes Ms. Nakasiita’s distinguished leadership and her unwavering contribution to advancing the practice of public relations in Uganda and across the African continent.

The Continental Advisory Committee serves as a Pan-African strategic body mandated to provide guidance and oversight to the Forum’s National Planning Committee. Its role is to ensure that the 2026 WPRF becomes a historic convergence of communication thought leaders, innovators, and policymakers, amplifying Africa’s voice on the global PR stage.
Championing PR Excellence Across Africa
Ms. Nakasiita joins a high-level cohort of communication leaders from across Africa, including presidents of national PR associations, Global Alliance board members, and heads of strategic communication institutions.
“I thank the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations together with the Global Alliance for this great opportunity to serve and champion PR excellence, not only in Uganda but across the region,” said Ms. Nakasiita.
“This platform provides a unique opportunity for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and benchmarking as we continue to advance the practice of public relations in Uganda. It also allows PRAU to connect with peers shaping positive narratives for their organizations and for our continent at large,” she added.
As a member of the CAC, Ms. Nakasiita will play a pivotal role in program design, stakeholder engagement, and continental mobilization for the Forum — ensuring that African narratives, innovations, and communication challenges are effectively represented in global conversations on reputation management and strategic communication.
In an official communication dated October 6, 2025, Dr. Ike Neliaku, President and Chairman of Council at NIPR, commended Ms. Nakasiita’s appointment as “a reflection of her professional excellence, visionary leadership, and significant contributions to the growth of public relations across Africa.”
The inauguration of the Continental Advisory Committee is scheduled for Monday, October 20, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. (WAT), to be officiated by Mr. Arik Karani, President of the African Public Relations Association (APRA), alongside Madam Irene Lungu Chipili, Chairperson of the Africa Regional Council of the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management.
